Double Elevation at Morecambe RAM

The first appearance following the installation meeting can be a slightly nervous occasion for anyone who is in the principal chair. Just to add to those pressures Stuart Bateson, the Worshipful Commander of Morecambe RAM No 716, had to work through a double ceremony of elevation at his first such meeting. Talk about hitting the ground running!
Geoff Bury APrGM, Ken Needham, Tony Harrison, Terance Ward, Stuart Bateson,
David Shaw, Paul Broadley S.W., John Gunson and Geoff Lee PDPrGM
The candidates on the evening were David Shaw and Terance Ward who were elevated into the order by Stuart in fine style. Adding a helping hand, and his undoubted experience, was Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison who stood in for the night as Junior Warden. Tony also explained the signs of the degree.

Senior Deacon John Gunson performed his duties well with the added responsibility of giving the explanation of the steps. He was ably assisted by Ken Needham who was a replacement Junior Deacon.
Following the ceremony 25 members and guests enjoyed the usual excellent festive board and convivial companionship.
